Meet Jessica Jacobsen, a Project Manager, scheduler, estimator, and CEI instructor who teaches how to read civil blueprints classes.

Bio

Jessica Jacobsen leads students in CEI’s how to read civil blueprints class as an instructor. Currently, she teaches the 110 Civil Construction Blueprint Reading and Materials course. As a Project Manager, Jacobsen has a Masters degree in Construction Management and has excelled in the construction industry as an estimator, project scheduler, project manager, senior project manager in civil, structural, pipeline, federal, residential and public works.

Jacobsen is a skilled project manager working on the Alaska Pipeline for five years and in the construction industry for over 14 years.

Jacobsen is active in the remote Alaskan construction industry since 2009. Graduating with her first degree in construction management in 2013, she became one of the only four females in the program. More recently, obtaining her master’s in project management in December 2019. She is a part of the 1.5% of Alaska natives with a graduate degree. Her current role is a Construction Manager at Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, where her primary responsibilities are monitoring the performance of contractor’s field implementation of maintenance projects. Previously, she worked for ANTHC, where she was the only female construction manager bringing water and wastewater infrastructure to some of the most rural places in Alaska.

In her free time, Jessica likes to spend time in nature golfing, hiking, cycling, riding her motorcycle, trying new recipes, and traveling to amazing places and music festivals. She stays connected to her university and is President of the Board for the University of Alaska Alumni Association. She serves as President and co-founder of Alaska Indigenous Exchange, Founding Vice President of Katie’s Handprint, financially helping families currently in pediatric cancer treatment, Past Chapter President for the National Association of Women in Construction, Alaska Chapter #197, and President of Alaska Engineers Without Borders.
